ABOUT

I’m Ashraf Awad, a contemporary abstract expressionist artist currently living in the Netherlands. My work is all about exploring the deep emotions and inner struggles that shape who we are. Through the use of colors and shapes, I aim to express those complex feelings that are sometimes hard to describe with words. Art allows me to bring to life emotions and experiences in a way that feels personal but also relatable to others.

I’ve always been fascinated by how we process emotions and how they affect our lives. My paintings reflect this exploration, capturing the moments of tension, doubt, hope, and strength that we all go through. Each piece of art I create is a step towards understanding myself better, and in turn, I hope it helps others connect with their own experiences.

Creating art is a constant journey. It’s not just about making something visually interesting; it’s about expressing what words can’t always capture. I believe that art has the power to spark reflection and dialogue, and my goal is for my work to encourage others to think about their own feelings and thoughts in a new way.

For me, art is about connecting with others through shared emotions and experiences. I hope my work brings something meaningful to anyone who takes the time to engage with it.

It is my hope to encourage others to reflect on their own inner worlds when engaging with my paintings.

What do you see? How does that make you feel? To which part of your soul does my painting take you? Are you the brave who dares to face your own light and shadow sides? Then I think you might like my art.
